The Ask and The Answer

Fleeing before a relentless army, Todd has carried a desperately wounded Viola right into the hands of their worst enemy, Mayor Prentiss.

Immediately separated from Viola and imprisoned, Todd is forced to learn the ways of the Mayor’s new order.

But what secrets are hiding just outside of town?
And where is Viola? Is she even still alive?
And who are the mysterious Answer?

And then, one day, the bombs begin to explode…

When Todd and Viola finally reached Haven things didn’t pan out the way they had expected. Now they have been separated again but both are fighting to find one another. The problem is is that the Mayor has other idea’s for Todd.  Put to work with his son Davy, they have work to do to learn how things are going to be done from now on in preparation for the arrival of Viola’s ship. The mayor also knows that Viola is the key to controlling Todd and he soon finds himself doing things he would never have imagined.

Viola however isn’t having any easier a time. Put to work as a healer she is being looked after by someone that has just as much determination as the Mayor. Someone who is just as manipulating and knows that Viola has no where else to go.

Though they may have their doubts about one another when chaos begins to break out in New Prentisstown they still fight to find one another but will it be enough?.

I really enjoyed the second book in this series. It carried on well from where the first book left off and we got to see how Todd’s character has developed from everything he had been through. I think all the characters in this book are well written and it makes it easy to connect with story. I also think the books are well written. I particularly liked this book  because we got to read chapters written from Viola’s point of view. I wasn’t sure how they what exactly was going to happen with this book or how it was going to end but it wasn’t at all disappointing. I think the last book may be a bit more violent considering the end of this book but I am looking forward to reading it as there a few things left to resolve.
